VIVANTE 43 CABRIO CRUISER: WINNER OF THE HISWA BOAT OF THE YEAR 2009

The Vivante 43 Cabrio Cruiser of Vivante Yachts from Sneek is the winner of the HISWA Boat of the year 2009. The jury chairman Hugo van Wieringen, director of Azure Naval Architects, announced the winner on Tuesday 3 March, the opening day of the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show 2009.

Criteria

The assessment criteria that play a role in the decision of the jury are: design, construction, sailing qualities and innovation.

Jury

The 10-person jury, editors of watersports media (Waterkampioen, Yacht Vision Magazine, De Telegraaf (Vaarkrant), Nautique, Motorboot en Motorjacht and a specialist) select the boats for a possible nomination. The organizers have no influence on the decision of the jury. During a meeting at the HISWA in-water boat show the jury select boats for the trial on Lake IJssel. After the trail only three boats can be short listed for the competition HISWA Boat of the Year.

Conditions of participation

The conditions for participation in the competition for the title are
  • The boat should have a minimum length of seven meters
  • Should also have been built and become actually available in 2008 or 2009
  • the boats must be available during the HISWA 2010 and the trial day in October
